Last fall for the first time I ordered some garlic cloves to plant. Just one variety to see how it went. This is Polish Softneck - a very hot and winter hardy softneck garlic. Now it's late June, the plants look really good, and I'm trying to figure out the best time to harvest it, so I dug one up to see and taste. It's hot! Bob loves it. I'll be ordering a milder one for this fall's planting for me to cook with.
I think I need to leave them in the ground a while longer though. Even though the cloves are nice and large, from the harvesting descriptions I've read online I don't think they're quite ready yet.But I grew garlic. I'm happy. (and apparently, easy to please...)
The garden is looking very good so far. A bit of a slow start from the cooler weather, but everything is catching up now and the abundance of rain helped everything to get a good start.
In addition to my raised beds and SWC's, I also have a few plots at the community garden down the street that the Nazarene church hosts. It's a very nice area and very peaceful to work in - lots of fields around it with birds singing, usually breezy, and other friendly gardeners to talk to.

Do you consume your vegetable garden, or does your vegetable garden consume you?
