Images from the Studio Garden

The birdhouse gourds have dried nicely. There are 8 all together. They are all almost ready to be sanded, cut, and decorated. I hope to try some woodburning on them for design. I haven't done any of these before so it will be trial and error. Hopefully a few homes for the birdies in the spring though.
One pot of amaryllis was sending up some side shoots so they are watered and in the window now to see if I get flowers from the main bulbs. It's time to start some of them for some winter beauty.
And one pot of amaryllis had 2 little jade plants start from 2 little leaves that fell into the soil. So now they are in pots of their own in the north window of my studio. The pots are some from my days as a potter some years back.

The lettuce plants after about 5 weeks of being planted - still only about an inch or so tall. I'm disappointed in the very slow progress. Maybe at 63 degrees it's too cold out there for more rapid growth. But I planted another section of the SWC yesterday with a leaf lettuce mix and a stir fry mix. I lost track of what these little plants were - just some kind of lettuce...
The seed catalogs are rolling in on every mail delivery. Now to decide what I need for spring. I want a better plan this year for successive and fall plantings. And NO volunteer tomatoes!
