Sowing and Sewing in Winter

The sewing room is done enough to work in. And it seems to be a sowing room, too. I finally get to take full advantage of my blog name. Note the gourds drying on the table and the amaryllis pots stored under the table. I have a jade plant ready to put into one of the vases on the window sill, too. The gourds need a little hole drilled in the stems then they can be hung on the one rafter in the ceiling for the winter - out of the way.
On the cutting table is a self-watering container one-third planted with lettuce seeds. Later I'll plant more of it so I can stagger the harvest a bit. Hope it works! It's heated out there and stays around 63 degrees. And they are under a plant light...it should work.
The colorful fabric on the little portable design wall is my first project in the new studio - a keyboard cover for my granddaughter.
A closer look at the lettuce. My own little indoor raised bed garden?
Since I didn't get around to making a hoop house or a cold frame yet, this is it for my winter gardening. Oh, and the sprouts for salads I grow in the kitchen.
