Strider is such a goof. This was a rare time when I let him off the leash in the big field across the street. Usually I have Lucy with me and if Strider is off leash he's too rough trying to get her to play - then she won't walk through the area for a while without hugging my leg. But she had to have a minor surgery to remove sutures in her knee from the surgery early in the summer. The sutures had begun to break and irritate the knee and had to come out. She's walking much better again now. Yea!

He really enjoys being able to run unencumbered by the leash and takes full advantage with it's off. Fortunately he is really good about getting it back on when it's time to go home. He's a beast - but a loveable one.

Such a typical fall sight around the freshly harvested corn fields (at least until the farmers plow them under for the winter - sure wish they'd leave them unplowed until spring)

I was so surprised to find this egret still at the river last week. It's very late for them to still be here. It's cold today so hopefully it decided to go south like it's supposed to do.
