The Rescued Kittens

I had a request from a fellow blogger to show the kitten photos so here they are.
These are the kittens I rescued from my mother's woods. There were 5 but one died after a couple of days. The rest are doing really well now. It's been about 2 weeks and they are eating on their own. When I got them they weren't even weaned and I had to bottle feed them. Their eyes were infected, and they had worms, ear mites, and upper respiratory infections. After vet care and lots of meds and TLC two are ready for new homes. The other two are still getting eye drops for bad eyes.
The little grey one had the worst eyes aside from the one that died. It is doing much better now and even the cloudiness is almost gone. But I can't stop the eye drops yet. When I tried the eyes started getting worse immediately. The vet said it can take up to a month of diligent care before they get better.
This is how they look today. Much better! My 2 granddaughters were finally able to come play with them. They all (kids and kittens) are loving it a lot. Of course the girls would like to take them home but they already have 2 cats and a bulldog. Not going to happen!
I'm glad I found the babies, but I'll be equally as happy to find homes for them. I live on a busy street and usually can just put out a free kitten sign and give them away. This is definitely not the first time I've found kittens and also puppies in mom's woods. Sure wish more people would be responsible with their pets!!!

  2. Yes, lucky kittens. My brother's cat was found when she was still so little she had to be bottle fed. Lots of work!
